– 100g of dry maize kernels

– 200g of sugar

– 50g of butter

– 10ml vegetable oil

– 50ml water

Step 1: First of all, you prepare a saucepan with a diameter around 25 cm and a lid for popcorn. You put the pot on the stove, turn the stove down then add vegetable oil into the pot and heat it up. You should put 1 or 2 kernels into the pot to test first. You cover the pot by a lid and wait. When the first kernel gets popping, you put the whole of kernels into the pot and stir around.

Step 2: When you hear the pops of kernels, you hold two handles of the saucepan and shake it off 5 rounds on the clock site. You shake the saucepan 5 times every 20 seconds until the pops totally stop. You turn off the stove and pour the popcorn into the tray and let it cool naturally.

Step 3: You out the pot on the stove, turn the flame down. Then, you pour 5 ml water with sugar and stir this mixture. You continue to cook until you get syrup with color of cockroach wings. (Note that you have to stir the mixture regularly so that the sugar will not be overcooked) You add butter and remaining water into the pot and turn the stove up. When the butter totally melts, you turn the stove down and add all of the popcorn above for 3 minutes. You stir the popcorn and butter together and then turn off the stove.

Step 4: You pour the popcorn to the tray and add vanilla powder into this so that popcorn will have good smell.
